On October 27th, 2024 Behind Every Door hosted the inaugural Olympic Games, a day that brought together our community, local legends, and passionate supporters for an unforgettable celebration of sports, connection, and impact. Thanks to your incredible generosity and enthusiasm, we raised over $400,000 to support our mission of unlocking the potential within underserved neighborhoods.
A Grand Kickoff to an Unforgettable Day
The day began with an exciting Opening Ceremony, setting the stage for the unforgettable experience that awaited our guests. We were honored to have a warm and inspiring word from our Event Chairs, Mark and Dianne LaRoe, who shared their passion for Behind Every Door’s mission. Their heartfelt message reminded everyone of the purpose behind our gathering. The energy in the air only heightened when our amazing MC, Lady Jade, took the mic and elevated the event experience with her vibrant and engaging presence.
Nine Game Stations, Endless Excitement!
Guests had the opportunity to showcase their athletic skills and participate in nine exhilarating game stations, each offering a unique challenge:
- 3-Point Shootout: A highlight of the day, as raffle winners faced off in a thrilling basketball shootout alongside the Dude Perfect crew. Cheers erupted as trick shots and buzzer-beaters lit up the court!
- 100-Yard Dash: Guests sprinted their way to glory, competing for the title of fastest on the field.
- Longest Drive: Golf enthusiasts had a once-in-a-lifetime experience, as Scottie Scheffler joined raffle winners to test their swing and see who could send the ball soaring the farthest.
- Football Throw: Participants tested their arm strength and precision, aiming to land the perfect pass.
- Soccer Shot: Soccer fans showed off their footwork, aiming to score goals from various distances.
- Fastest Pitch: Baseball lovers stepped up to the mound to see just how fast they could throw, with radar guns measuring every pitch.
- Obstacle Course: A crowd favorite, this station tested strength, agility, and endurance as participants navigated through a series of challenging obstacles.
- Longest Putt: Golfers lined up to sink the longest putt, channeling their inner pros to perfect their putt game.
Each station buzzed with excitement as guests competed, laughed, and cheered each other on, all in the spirit of fun and community.
A Star-Studded Event
The day was made even more memorable by the incredible involvement of Dude Perfect, who brought their signature energy and participated in the 3-Point Shootout, making dreams come true for fans. Scottie Scheffler wowed everyone at the Longest Drive station, sharing tips and adding a touch of golf greatness. The enthusiasm and camaraderie from both our special guests and attendees made the event truly spectacular.
The Silent Auction
Amidst the action, attendees also had the opportunity to bid in our silent auction, featuring a fantastic lineup of exclusive items and experiences. From vacation packages to signed sports memorabilia, the silent auction was a huge success, thanks to your generosity and competitive spirit!
